Low-slope sections and flat roofs, where water sits instead of running.

The job, start to finish.
Flat roofs are not flat. They are built with just enough fall to move water to a drain, and when that fall is wrong or a drain is blocked, water stops moving and stays. Standing water finds every seam eventually, so drainage is the thing that decides whether a low-slope roof lasts.
Plenty of houses here have a low-slope section without anyone thinking of it that way: a flat porch roof, a garage addition, a section behind a parapet. Those are the parts most often roofed in shingle by somebody who should not have, because shingles rely on gravity and a shallow pitch does not give them enough of it.
How It Works
Free inspection
A roof cannot be judged from the ground, and plenty of them turn out to have years left. The visit costs nothing either way.
The claim, if there is one
A carrier pays against a scope written in its own estimating format, so that is the format the damage has to be documented in. Somebody here does that full time.
Scope and color
You get a written scope before anything starts, and color boards go up against the house rather than being chosen from a brochure.
Tear off and rebuild
The old roof comes off, the deck gets inspected while it is visible, and the new system goes on. Most single family roofs are one or two days.
Permits and inspection
Our office manager handles permits and the city inspection. It is administrative and it is the part that quietly goes wrong when nobody owns it.
The magnet pass
Drive, lawn and beds, checked before anyone leaves the site.
The Difference
The part that decides how it goes.
A membrane system is the right material there, and the transition where it meets the pitched roof is where the detailing matters most.

Flat Roofing, answered.
Water sits on my flat roof after rain. Is that a problem?
Water still there a couple of days later is generally treated as a drainage fault rather than normal, and it is what ages a low-slope roof fastest.
Can shingles be used on a low-slope roof?
Below the manufacturer's minimum pitch, no. It is a common mistake on porch roofs and additions, and it usually shows up as a leak at the transition.
How long does a flat roof last?
It depends far more on drainage and detailing than on the membrane itself. Ponding shortens everything.
